O sexto álbum de Nina Simone para a Philips Records foi Wild Is the Wind , lançado em 1966. O álbum foi compilado a partir de várias gravações que sobraram das sessões de álbuns anteriores da Philips. A canção "Four Women" foi lançada como single e ganhou notoriedade ao ser banida pela estação de rádio WLIB, de Nova York, especializada em jazz, devido a preocupações com a letra. Wild Is The Wind foi regravada por David Bowie em seu álbum de estúdio de 1976, Station to Station.
